Summary
This single piece mounting kit is much easier to mount the 2 solid state drives than the 2 piece metal bracket design. It's not recommend to mount 2 hard drives, because of the heat issue. There are 4 screws holes on the underside of this unit for mounting the bottom drive. So unlike the 2 piece design, where you need to slide the brackets around to make the holes fit. The top drive mount using the screw holes on the side.
Since the unit is just 1 solid piece, it also easier to mount into the computer's 3.5 inch bay.
